With the occasional release of newly designed banknotes, some software-based currency verification devices, such as the CT-550, will need to have their software upgraded to the newest version.
Without the upgrade of the new software, your machine will be unable to detect banknotes that were released into circulation after you purchased your product.

CT-200 Software Updates

The software included with your CT-200 is up-to-date. There will likely be no updates until the new $100 (USD) bill is released; we estimate this will be sometime in 2023.

CT-550 Software Updates

Make sure your CT-550 needs a software update by:

  1. Turning your CT-550 "OFF" then "ON". During boot-up, your software version (ex: "C06") will be displayed on the screen.
  2. If your software version is "C06" or higher, you do not need to update your software.

* Do NOT "Run" the .zip file. Instead, "Save" the .zip file and then right-click to "Extract" the .zip file. *
